The SD5010 Serenity Series Steel Tongue Drum is a multifaceted percussion instrument used to produce not only long, slow, ethereal tones perfect for meditation, yoga, sound healing, and relaxation, but also rhythms and melodies suitable for many kinds of music. Uniquely pure, clear, and resonant bell-like sounds are easily achieved—even for users with no prior experience playing music.

The eight keys of this drum each represent a precision-tuned note in the C-major pentatonic scale. As the keys never go out of tune, it’s easy to maintain, and the available notes are pleasing in any combination. The keys come pre-labeled and adhesive key labels are also  included to facilitate teaching and learning.

While the drum can be played using just the fingertips, two striking accessories are included: rubber-tipped finger sleeves that help players achieve a soft, calming, droning timbre, and rubber-tipped mallets that impart more definition and volume. Crafted from carbon steel with a powder-coat finish, this instrument delivers strength and durability for long-lasting performance. An outer wrap made of woven cord increases traction to provide a stable hold during performance, practice, and lessons. In addition to a rubber rest that keeps mallets organized and in place, the drum also comes with a carry bag that features a zipper closure, an adjustable shoulder strap, and a top handle for ease of storage and transportation.
